I've been to 2 Hunter shows and I've gotten a 1st, a 2nd, a 5th, and a 6th place ribbon. How do you get a champion ribbon? How are reserved champ and Champion different then 1st place ribbon?|||Well, you would have to compete in a division at a show which basically is a group of classes. (cross poles, 2', 2'3, 2'6, 2'9, 3', 3'3, 3'6 ect...)
Out of that one division the "champion" is the one who did best overall in their division. For each ribbon you recieve there is points, and when they add up the points for each rider there is always a Champion (first best rider, most points), and a Reserve Champion (second best rider, second most points). On your entry form it will say how many points are awarded for each ribbon. So firsts/seconds/thrids/fourths/fifths/six鈥?are for one class in the division, but the champ/reserve thing is for OVERALL in that division. Also, if you are champion/reserve sometimes the show will hand out prizes too! For example I have gotten two white fleece fitted saddle pads, halter/lead rope, hoof picks, polo wraps, blue saddle pad, tail bag, pony club book, water buckets, grooming tools, and a few gift certificates for tack stores, and I've been to about 12 hunter shows so far (2 years). Sometimes they will hand out medals too, I got a third place medal for my open hack division. Hope I helped :)|||I'm sure you have heard the answer by now, but in order to receive a Champion or Reserve Champion ribbon of the day, you have to accumulate the highest points overall in your division. Champion is the highest, and Reserve Champion is the second highest. For example:
Rider #1 got a 1st, two 2nd's and a 5th.
Rider #2 got a 1st, a 2nd, and two 4th's.
Points (Point amounts varies depending on the amount of riders in the division that day and how valuable that particular show is):
1st= 10 points
2nd= 9 points
3rd= 8 points
4th= 7 points
5th= 6 points
6th= 5 points
7th= 4 points
8th= 3 points
Rider #1= 10+9+9+6= 34 points
Rider #2= 10+9+7+7= 33 points
So at the end of the division, Rider #1 would have received Champion and Rider #2 would have received Reserve Champion with a difference of one point.
Hope this helps!|||A division show champion is an accumulation of your division points that are tallied at the end of the show. So each placing is worth points and these points are added up at the end of the show to come up with a champion and reserve champion. Champion in your division is the overall high sorer (the most consistent horse or rider). Reserve champion is like the runner up - or 2nd place.|||Well usually the winners of each class go into a championship, and the best of them is crowned champion. The second best is reserve champion.
So first place is the best in that class, and champion is the best of all the winners. Then, at some shows (if there are a few championships because there a few rings) they go on to have supreme champion - this is the champion of the champions; the best of the best on that day.

Plus, going to shows is not all about winning. Remember to have fun|||Well get your horse cleaner and beter equitment for your horse. and keep going to shows and lessions....
