How do u get a guy to stop clinching you in fight night champion?

in fight night champion for ps3 the guy would clinch me and i cant throw him off i have to wait for him to let go.... how do you throw him off?|||if you are playing the ps3 version then you press the l2 button.. if xbox3060 its the left trigger.. im a beast on both systems. if you try to clench me i will flash k.o. you in a sec lol
