Not necessarily a HOF player, just a great champion. For example I would consider players like Ellis Burks and Jack Morris to be great champions even though they are not Hall of Fame players. What distinguishes a great champion from most of their peers?|||A player that never gives up, ever. Plays and sacrifices for the team, if necessary. Doesn't care about STATS or anything like that but gives everything for the team. Last but not least, has Heart.
See the 2004 Red Sox. It would have been easy for them to pack it in and go home. What happened then?|||A great champion is someone that doesn't play for himself, but rather for his team. He goes out there and plays his or even her heart out. In baseball, it is someone who doesn't stop running down the first base line despite the fact they are out (AKA Manny Ramirez). The player who is a champions runs down showing heart and hustle.
A champion should always keep his ballclub happy and upbeat, even if the score is 10-0 and the team is being no-hit. They show confidence in the way they play and never give up and thry don't get overly confident. They should go out and play whether they are 0-4 or 4-4.|||Ability to succeed in the clutch. Get the big hits. Play well in the postseason.
I have no clue where you pulled Ellis Burks from. The guy wasn't special in the regular season or the postseason.
