Under CKC rules, what titles can a champion dog aspire to? What is the point system for a champion dog?|||I assume you're talking about Canadian Kennel Club? Once a dog is a champion, he collects a different kind of points - he collects points towards top dog in his breed, group, top dog in the country. Points are accumulated for every breed win, group placing and best in show the dog gets, according to how many dogs are entered in his breed, group and in the show.|||I do not know about CKC, but in AKC shows....if you have an exceptional champion, you campaign it hoping to collect more Best of Breeds, Best of Groups, and the Holy Grail of BEST IN SHOW. Breed clubs keep track of these wins, and rate dogs by their wins. Also for a stud--more wins =more $$ for stud fees and for the bitches...their puppies are worth more.
If the dog or ***** has a certain # of champion pups then there is a title for that, but I have forgotten what it is right now.|||Yes, he can still go on to earn points for a rating in his breed, as in #1 Dalmatian in Canada. Once your dog has it's championship, you enter it in best of breed, then if it wins there, it can go on to it's group (working, herding, etc). If it wins the group, it goes on to Best in Show. The point system is determined by the breed, if you have a popular breed, you have to beat more dogs to get points then if you have a less common breed. There are more titles, for a detailed explantion, check out the CKC website, http://www.ckc.ca/en/
It will tell you all about it. But, if your dog is a champion, why not go on to putting obedience titles on him? There are lots of titles you can earn there, and you end up with a long string ot titles after your dog's name.
