I am planning on showing my dog next year and I am trying to get the information necessary to do so. We plan on showing with the AKC and hopefully we will do well. Please only post if you have something HELPFUL to say and I am a person so please dont be to rude. If you think that this is a dumb question please just move on and dont comment. Thanks in advance to all who are helpful. Can a dog recive a champion title with a junior handler?|||Sure! Several of mine were handled to their championship by my kids -- who can out handle me in the show ring by a mile (life's not fair!!).
You likely know this, but just in case --you must be in the regular show classes, not juniors. Juniors counts only for junior showmanship.
Ironic, you have to be 8 or 9 (they changed it and I forget which) to show in "junior showmanship" but you can show as young as you want in regular show classes. I know a 6 year old who won breed with a special (he was on the "National dog show" -- better known in the dog show world as the "philly shows" on animal planet too with an interview). It was really funny -- the little guy knows the basics and the toy manchester knew the rest (the dog took good care of him in group too).|||As far as I know, yes.
You would, of course, have to be showing him in regular conformation--I don't think you can get a CH on a dog for Junior showmanship alone, as in junior showmanship *you* are judged on *your* skills--not the dog. You'd be showing up against adults, but it's a good experience and you may stand a good chance, depending on breed.
If you have a popular breed, or even since you're young, it may not be a bad idea to take handling classes AND show in junior showmanship as well; you'll pick up on the technique faster and won't waste your time trying to learn at shows while in the ring.
Good luck!|||The answer is absolutely.
I have seen it done.
Now mind you this Junior Handler is quite a handler and has been handling dogs probably before she could walk.
It is also going to depend on your breed.
My breed- Rough/Smooth Collie is more often then not owner handled. So it would be completely "do-able" for a Junior to take a dog to its Championship.
Other breeds-such as your toy breeds are not, and I would expect it to be nearly impossible for a Junior to show a dog to its Championship.|||Absolutely, many of us will "hand off" a dog to a Junior, because we can't take two dogs into the ring at once. (and they beat us sometimes)

But, championship points are earned in the Breed ring, not the Junior Handler ring.|||Yes they can, I was a junior once, and put plenty of points on my dogs. I just finished one recently. I put many point, and majors on the SBTs I showed as a junior. Any person who knows how to handle properly and has a good dog can win and finish.|||Age of the handler only matters in junior competition. There is no lower age limit to handle in the regular classes. The dog would have to be shown in regular competition in order to get points. Junior competition is separate.|||Yes they can, as long as you know what to do. You should do some research before entering one. Here is a website to help you get started.

Hope this helps!!!|||They absolutely can unless you're talking about junior showmanship, where the junior handler is judged on how they present the breed, but the dogs themselves aren't judged
