How do I know if my dog is from champion blood lines?

By looking at their AKC paperwork how can you tell if there is champion dogs in the bloodline? Is there any other way to tell? Thanks.|||Look at the AKC pedigree.

Here's an example, you can see that some of the dog's have "CH" in front of their name. This means they were a conformation champion.

.|||Any responsible breeder would have given you a pedigree when they sold you the puppy.

You can buy the pedigree from AKC .. and look for the Ch. in front of the dog's names in the pedigree.|||CH before the name|||The sire and dam will have "CH" before their names on your dog's paperwork, if they were champions.

Otherwise, you will have to look at an AKC certified pedigree (orderable online, as someone said).

Frankly, if the "CH" title appears further back than your dog's grandparents (3rd generation), it really doesn't mean much...minimal contribution, genetically speaking.|||you look at the pedigree.. which is basically the family tree. If any of the dogs in the pedigree have a CH before their name, your dog is from CH bloodlines.|||It should say on your paperwork if it was|||Look at the dogs full pedigree history it should say|||As noted, you'll see CH before the dog's name. Other types of championships (in performance, not conformation) include OTCH, HC, CT, MACH which are also great to see in the pedigree.
