Since 1999, Australia is world champion and have won overwhelming majority of ODIs and test matches since then against each country. How much longer would the reign last and which country will be champion next?
Or will Australia stay champion forever?|||not much dude not much~
anybody can bet on it,..100%sure
mighty windies went down,..
Aussies will be the same...
cheers~|||cant say
Australia is a very good all round unit
but they are getting competition from countries like South Africa, New Zealand(ODI) and India
even Pakistan is a good unit after Misbah came into their team
so the competition is really good!!!!!|||Australia certainly has a strangle hold on the cricketing nations, like you have said already they have been world champs for a while now... Im hoping they will stay on top for a while longer, looking down the road I cant see anyone who will contest it... I know India have shown they can match it with us, but we still have the upper hand... This years test matches will be interetsing
Sorry missed the last bit, um next if any (other the Australia), Im going with New Zealand...|||Not for long is what everyone says! Even I personally want SL to beat them in the CBs final. But.......There is a serious "BUT" to it! If the aussies regain their prime form before long, I can say one thing 4 sure, it's going to take a lot more Sharmas to dislodge them.|||Yes australians are on top but it is hard to answer your question, no one simply cannot guess how long would they reign, it all depends on a lot of things for eg; any incidents happen on the field can affect a players performance easilly or something could happen between sponsors or board etc... or wrong selection process also can affect a team's performance.
Everything has an end so I dont think australians will stay champion forever.|||If not forever they would be there for a long time given their passion for the game and their love for the country. Though they have an ugly side, but , hey u have to give the devil its due.|||As far as they don't give up things and have confident in them.|||even as an Australian myself, I can see us falling from the top very soon.
Our batting line up is starting to age, our bowling line up still has many years left in it but our batting line up is aging. Unless there are heaps of good young aussie batsmen out there as good as Hayden, Ponting, Hussey, Symonds and Clarke....well then we will be out of the top spot.
Its only worked for us becasue we had the best batsmen and the best bowlers in the world.
As much as I hate saying this, I think that India is the next big thing. They have a very young, swing bowlers who can demolish a good team like Australia. There are one or two good, young batsmen otherwise they have the same problems as Australia.
To answer your question, even though its years out, im Tipping an Australia v India WC final for 2011.
They will be the best teams in cricket in a few years and the Australia v India rivalry will explode.|||even if they lose the world cup in future they qwill always remain the world chams as they are utter profestionals|||1..have been a happy aus supporter for years
2--bloody well hope so
3- South Africa, New Zealand, India,West Indies
4-- same as # 3 (have doubts)|||There are still 3 years left for the World Cup. Our team has the potential to win the WC. But, for that they have to excel in all the three departments of the game, like Australia. Dhoni is doing a good job by building a team for the future. Australia will be champions, maybe for another 2 or 3 years. The team that will dethrone them will be India or South Africa.|||Australian Cricketeers by charactor play the Game very Professionally like Gladiators in an Arena with never dying spirit.Mentally and Tactically their approach to the Game has been always aggressive.
Other Teams do have Potential,Skill and Smartness also; but Australian WILL-POWER is something which other Teams have to achieve and develop to OVERCOME Australians.
In the near future with tremendous Resources and Interest of the Game in India , Indian Team will emerge at par with Australia--Strong Coaching and Mentoring is the KEY.|||this is last time|||another 2-3 yrs|||The main reason for Australia’s dominance is not one individual player (although Shane Warne was pivotal in a great number of victories) but the formation of great 'Teams'. Australia perform well all together, have clarity.
Australia still has the best domestic comp and infrastructure. It is fortunate to have virtually a three tier level of comp.
1. Local District cricket is very strong throughout the country. It contains many international players.
2. State cricket. This is believed among many cricket commentators that this is the best first class series in the world.
3. International. Say no more!!
There is some very good talent in Australia, guys that many of them would be instant selections for most other nations. But they are good because of the competition for places in any of three levels as per above.
Until other countries catch up, Australia can remain on top for a time to come yet. Because it is not like when Australia lost Chappell, Lillie and Marsh in the 80's and went through a rebuilding, there is now a far greater talent pool to choose from and greater facilities.
The only thing that threatens to destroy all this is the upcoming ‘carnival of clowns’ (as I like to call it) and the amount of money being offered to players to go India in pursuit of 20/20 glory.|||not much time is up INDIA is going to become world champions thats for sure in current teams only INDIA has the ability to become world champions because australians have lost their power, enthusiasm ,aggressive and everything so CHAK DE INDIA|||Considering the competition they have to face in Test Match cricket, they are still light years head of everyone else.
One Day cricket is tough but they have won the World Championship a record three times in a row. So I really can't see anything changing in the distant future.|||Not much.
You see some leaving the sinking ship . Then joining IPL.|||Not much longer!|||Aus will not win the next WC|||australia---not since 1999, but for a long time.|||MINIMUM 2011
