How long will India remain world champion and the most superior cricket team?

Australia reigned as world champion from 1999 to 2011. It was almost 12 year reign. I am wondering how long will India's reign last? I hope they win 2015 world cup in Australia and 2019 world cup in England. Am I asking for too much or I should reduce my expectations?|||Things change very fast in 4 years. Most cricketers when they reach mid 30's start to decline except for rare few (like Tendulkar). By 2015 world cup in Australia, there will not be Tendulkar (if he is, then his form wouldn't be good), zaheer, harbhajan, dhoni, would be in mid 30's already. They would not be in their prime then. They are in their prime right now. Most other teams have seen big names like hayden, gilchrist, mcgrath, saeed anwar, brian lara, jayausurya, etc etc retire. Indian team has not seen any retirement so they excelled. With new comers or current players becoming old, its hard to predict how indian cricket team will be.|||India got a pool of 1,2 billion people from which to select so they can reign forever even. They need to start unearthing more and more quality pace bowlers. But look at India over the past few years. They are Number 1 Test team, now also Number one ODI team surely. They are world champions in ODI World Cup, inaugural champions of World T20 in 2007. They have most prolific batsman in history of all international cricket (Sachin). Also have the most devastating batsman in Test and ODI cricket (Sehwag). They have richest cricket league in world (IPL). Even, if theoretically, the rest of the world stops playing cricket, India could entirely sustain the game by itself as a fully domestic game (like American Football in the USA!).

As for new players not coming through, who said so? Raina, Yusuf Pathan, Kohli, Gambhir, Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, Piyush Chalwa are all stars of the future. And these are the ones we know of. There are yet more players to be unearthed.|||Yes, you are perhaps expecting too much. India has won the Cup but not so convincingly as to forecast continued superiority for too long. Nevertheless, there are two important factors that should help the cause. First is a definite change in the attitude.... 'never say die' has become a matter of second nature these days with Team India. The other factor is the IPL money and exposure that should guarantee regular quality replenishments in the team.|||im sorry to burst your bubble but i think you are are expecting too much from india. remember, tendulkar and sehwag, yuvraj ya star batsmen will have retired along with your dynamite captain dhoni and your star bowlers harbajahn and zaheer will all be gone. but remeber youth will come into your team and we'll havto see how gud they are. but its too early to call yet.|||With both the West Indies and the Aussies, they both had new players coming through in the CWCs who earned their stripes. India's problem is that probably four players (Tendulkar, Sehwah, Zaheer and Harbajan) will have retired before the next WC. As well Dhoni, Gambir and Yuvraj will all be in their mid 30s. No real stars coming through especially in the bowling.|||As other answers suggest most of our prime players would be in their mid 30s by the next WC and the Maestro would have retired by then but this team has started believing that they can win over any team. That attitude matters. By then we would have next bunch of youngsters too. So probably we will win the next WC too.|||As long as Pawar runs BCCI and MSD is the captain India will dominate. In fact, India should have been the world champs long back. But, in those days there was too much politics, regional favoritism, infighting etc. Now, its all cleaned up. Now only performance matters.|||What happened to the West Indies and Australia will now happen to India. Senior players retiring but not much yet on the horizon.

Curious, if you check the ICC rankings, Australia is ranked number one in ODI cricket.|||Sachin is gonna be gone, and if it wasn't for his luck you wouldn't have won the semi finals. Not saying this because I'm from the Green Team..BUT you have a lot of players retiring..and those players that have really shaped up the Indian Team|||Hardly till the next world cup, so better minimize your expectation rather than getting yourself hurt next time. It;s hard to maintain the victory than achieving it.|||Nothing remains forever, No team is superior than the other team. Its who plays best on the day lol. yesterday is over, talk about future.|||INDIA IS GOING TO STAY CHAMPIONS FOR 10 SECONDS COS THE SRI LANKANS WILL GET REVENGE!!!!!!!!!!

PROUD TO BE A SRI LANKAN!!!!!!!!

GO LIONS!!!!!!!!!!|||Until dynamite captain(MSD) FLOURISHES|||Maybe for the next World Cup.
